Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch method of influencing the body's natural ability to heal and balance itself. The Central Nervous System is at the core of every system of the body and mind, and thus the spirit. If one's body is in good balance, the body, mind, heart and spirit work in harmony. When there is an imbalance, which may be evidenced in headaches, exhaustion, depression, irritability, or any disease process, every level of the person is affected. By addressing the core of the body, the Central Nervous System, the body can regain its ability to heal itself, you gain clarity of mind, and your heart and spirit have greater access to all your resources to feel free to pursue your dreams and desires.

During a Craniosacral Therapy session you'll lay on the table face up, and fully clothed. I will assess the function of the system by touching specific points on your body to feel the rhythm of the system. When asymmetry or restriction is noted, I apply prolonged and gently touch to that area of the body to release and rebalance the rhythm. The body is then free to rebalance and find the place of homeostasis, also known as peace. People find that Craniosacral Therapy is very relaxing and enjoyable. The body is quick to respond to this therapy, and you'll leave feeling relieved in ways you may not have noticed you were feeling tense.

Craniosacral Therapy for children is slightly different, depending on the needs of the child. Their bodies respond much more quickly than adult bodies, and kids typically know right where they need help. Often when I ask a child as young as 2 or 3 where they feel tense, they point right to where the trouble is. I apply light touch for your child while we're playing, reading a book, or he/she will sit in your lap. Some kids climb right up on the table, excited to have their therapy. Infants also have a way of communicating what they need, as parents come to learn quickly. During a session with an infant I will watch how they move and rest in your arms or on the table or floor. Following their cues I may hold her/him or I may apply the therapy as you hold them. The touch is gentle, soothing, and comforting.
